Born in 1997 in Taiwan, Pin-Cheng CHIU obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2019 at the National University of Arts of Tainan (TNNUA) in the class of Ya-Hsin Cheng. He studied the same year at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d’Angers in Vincent Mauduit’s class. He then joined the CNSMD in Lyon in Minh-Tâm Nguyen’s class, with Henri-Charles Caget and Hsin-Hsuan Wu in 2020, then Adrien Pineau and Alexandre Esperet since 2021. He is currently completing his master’s degree at the CNSMD in Lyon, and is working on a collaborative project on gesture and movement in music. A performer supported by various international events, he has performed in Japan, South Korea, France and the United States during various festivals. In 2022, he collaborated with the Percussions de Treffort for the creation of “Au-dessus de l’obscurité” by Louis Sclavis and strengthened his ties with the Percussions de Strasbourg by joining the Percustra 2023 project.
