100 Cymbals in Hannover

It’s back to work! We will be in Hanover on 3 and 4 June for the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen to perform 100 Cymbals, by Ryoji Ikeda, a real dive into the abyss of vibration for a unique listening experience, an infinite crescendo, leading from an almost imperceptible murmur to the brilliance of the final fortississimo.
The concert opens with But what about the noise of crumpling paper… the sound portrait that John Cage dedicated to Hans Arp from Strasbourg and that Ryoji Ikeda came to rewrite with us in April; a discreet but no less powerful pointillist corollary to the ocean of sound of 100 Cymbals.

France Musique is putting today’s music in the spotlight during a great evening of live music recorded in public at La Scala Paris on 7 June 2021. Without frontiers nor chapels, contemporary creation will be represented in all its diversity during this evening where the Percussions de Strasbourg will present Les Invariants, the latest piece that the French Composer Michaël Levinas wrote for them.
To be followed on France Musique from 8pm.

Focus on Percustra and Demos

The Percussions de Strasbourg are committed to transmission on a daily basis, through their educational activities, in particular the Percustra project, creative workshops for all and the Demos project, which enables children to practice music in an orchestra. Despite the exceptional circumstances of this year, we have managed to maintain the workshop sessions with the children. These workshops will be held in June and are open to all:
Percustra concert at the Théâtre de Hautepierre on 8 June at 6pm and 7.30pm
Ecole Jacqueline, Ecole Brigitte, Collège Erasme, Collège Truffaut, Lycée Rudloff and the harp and percussion section of the Démos Strasbourg orchestra.

Demos Strasbourg concert on 12 June, Cité de la Musique et de la Danse, Strasbourg
Demos Paris concert on 19 June, Philharmonie de Paris

L’Air(e) back in school!

On 20 and 21 May, the trio No Bad Vibes gave a concert at the Erasme and Truffaut colleges in the Hautepierre district. They played L’Air(e), a programme for young and old based on pieces by Jacques Rebotier, Francesco Filidei, Thierry De Mey, Pierre Jodlowski, Steve Reich and James Tenney. A shared pleasure to be back on stage, for the musicians as well as for the children.
These concerts are part of our educational programme with schools in the Hautepierre district of Strasbourg.
