Invariants – Bach, Takemitsu, Levinas

© Vincent Arbelet

Saturday 11 September, 8.30 pm Chateau du Hohlandsbourg
Due to weather conditions and rain, the originally planned programme, Xenakis’ Persephassa, cannot be performed.
This programme is replaced by Invariants, a programme for trio of musicians playing percussion keyboards. Interspersed between three Trio Sonatas for Organ by Johann-Sebastian BACH, Rain Tree (1981) by Tōru TAKEMITSU and Les Invariants (2021) by Michaël LEVINAS take the German composer’s works back and forth in time.
Several centuries after their composition, these sonatas continue to adapt to their time without losing their essence, and the presence of works from our own time reminds us that Johann Sebastian Bach remains very much alive.

50 Years of the Hautepierre Area

© Le Futur

The Hautepierre district was designed and developed between 1967 and 1984 and its theatre was built in 1978: this is where the Percussions de Strasbourg have been based for over thirty years. This year, the whole district is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
On Wednesday 15 September, the festivities will begin with a concert evening of the district’s talents at the Hautepierre theatre.
The programme includes an eloquence competition, rap-hip hop performances, testimonies from inhabitants of the district and a storytelling show, all of which will be accompanied by music from the Percussions de Strasbourg.

Organised with the partner associations of the neighbourhood: Horizome, D-Clic, Facilit’up, Compagnie 12:21, CSC Le Galet, ANCT and the Direction du Terrritoire de la Ville de Strasbourg.
Concert at 7pm, free entrance, tickets directly from the theatre on the day.
Sanitary pass required!

Asterism – alexander Schubert

© Musica

Immersive installation, interactive performance, place of spirituality for the present and the future. With Asterism, Alexander Schubert has created an unidentified artistic object, at the crossroads of musical, scenic and technological practices. Within a strange sanctuary, constantly vacillating between hyperrealism and virtuality, natural and artificial elements, musicians and performers, as well as an artificial intelligence in control of the ritual, rub shoulders. A post-digital nature, a hallucinatory in-between world that the public is invited to explore at any time of the night or day.

World premiere on 17 September 2021 as part of the Musica Festival
Presented with the Maillon, Théâtre de Strasbourg – Scène européenne and the Opéra national du Rhin

Myotis V – Anthony Laguerre

© Régis Bourguignon

Saturday 28 August, 9pm at the Festival Météo Mulhouse, Le Motoco
For several years, Anthony Laguerre has been exploring a solo entitled Myotis. Much more than a musical composition, Myotis reveals itself as a research process which, through the energy of rock, pushes the limits of the drums to their ultimate limits. Today, he meets the Percussions de Strasbourg to pursue his approach and give it a new dimension. Together, they dream of a sound space that plays with the acoustics of each instrument, amplification and the inversion of energies.
Next dates:
2 October at the Festival Musique Action – CCAM Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy
12 October at the festival Un pavé dans le Jazz in Toulouse
