July 2024

In July, don’t miss our two concerts in Alsace: on 11 July in Strasbourg for a free concert open to all, and on 12 July at the Festival International de Colmar with a programme that will take you through the musical eras. In August, off to Saint-Céré for the film-concert La Fête Sauvage by Lucie Antunes and Frédéric Rossif.

June may not have been a sunny month, but it was nevertheless a warm one, with the Percustra workshop feedback concert and our 98 participants sharing the stage with the Percussions de Strasbourg and the Percussions de Treffort. June also saw the final of the Hautepierre middle school tournament, with musical games of our own devising, and, again in the spirit of sport, our ensemble’s support for our female football neighbours.

OKHO et INVARIANTS
📅 Friday 12th July
📍 Festival International de Colmar, St Matthieu Church
🎫 Info and booking

Invited for the first time to the Colmar International Festival, the Percussions de Strasbourg will be making the vaults of Saint-Matthieu resound for a concert that’s a must-see!
On the programme: a trio of musicians playing percussion keyboards. Interspersed between three Sonatas in trio for organ by Johann Sebastian Bach, Rain Tree by Tōru Takemitsu and Les Invariants by Michaël Levinas take the works of the German composer back in time.
Centuries after their compositions, these sonatas continue to adapt to their time without losing their essence, and the presence of works from our own time reminds us that Johann Sebastian Bach is still very much with us today.
Not forgetting the unmissable Psappha and Rebonds by Xenakis, the signature composer of Les Percussions, among others!
Four centuries of rhythmic research!

FOOT & PERCUSSION

Les Percussions de Strasbourg have become sponsors of the women’s football team from the AJF club in Hautepierre. After coming on tour with us for a date organised by the Musica festival at Le Lieu Unique in Nantes in April, the links between the two teams are growing stronger! The next event in this new friendship will be a (friendly) football match between these talented female footballers and our percussionists.

Congrats to the UE15 and UE13, who are champions this season!
